Beta Cirkus je projekat koji sarađuje sa 4 kompanije specijalizovane za savremeni cirkus, radeći na novim trendovima, a naročito na Novoj magiji. Tokom dve godine trajanja projekta, 4 umetnika / kompanija izabranih od strane artističkog tima partnerskih organizacija, prikazaće svoje radove u Italiji, Srbiji, Portugalu i Letoniji. Ovo partnerstvo ima fokus na zemlje koje nemaju akademski nivo cirkuskog obrazovanja i zemlje koje su nedavno spoznale cirkus kao novu granu umetnosti, ali još uvek moraju naporno raditi na pružanju odgovarajućih veština omladinskim profesionalcima u ovoj oblasti. Projekat ima za cilj da se pozabavi novim trendovima savremenog cirkusa i da nadoknadi nedostatak mogućnosti da se umetnici obuče na visokom profesionalnom nivou u tim novim trendovima. S druge strane, cilj mu je stvoriti mogućnosti da publika iskusi te nove jezike i koncepte u performansima, posebno u partnerskim zemljama. Projekat bi trebao biti pilot akcija, prvi korak dugoročne saradnje koja bi mogla razviti novu evropsku platformu posvećenu visokoj profesionalnoj obuci cirkuskih umjetnika i programiranju inovativnih dela u Europi.

BETA CIRCUS aims to address new trends in contemporary circus and to offset the lack of opportunities for artists to get trained at a high professional level. The project also propose moments for the audience to experience those new languages and concepts with live performances, especially in the partner countries. Is a cooperation project that expects to develop a new European vision dedicated to the capacity building process for emerging contemporary circus artists looking for innovative works, trends and languages in Europe (New Magic), with special focus on countries with a lack of high level circus education and reduced recognition of the circus domain in the field of contemporary arts.

BETA CIRKUS Participativno iskustvo je projekat saradnje koji ima za cilj da stvori evropsku transnacionalnu priliku za istraživanje participativnog cirkusa kao budućeg trenda uključivanja i učešća javnosti u cirkuskom kreativnom procesu, omogućavajući publici da postanu ko-autori, urednici i posmatrači umetničkog dela.
Primena metodologije participativne umetnosti na savremenu cirkusku scenu, promovisaće angažovanje lokalne zajednice u odabranom mestu sa potpunim i integrisanim procesom stvaranja primenjenom na nekonvencionalne prostore za umetničku prezentaciju, uključujući javne prostore, povezujući savremenu umetnost sa nematerijalnim lokalnim kulturnim nasleđem iz ugla stanovnika koji zajedno sa profesionalnim umetnicima kreiraju.
Tokom maja 2024, tačnije od 02-19.05.2024. u Novom Sadu će se održati tronedeljna rezidencija projekta Beta cirkus participativno iskustvo, koji je podržan od strane Kreativne Evrope, Gradskog odbora za kulturu i Ministarstva kulture Republike Srbije. Partnerstvo koje povezuje Italiju, Letoniju, Portugal i Srbiju, samo je polazna tačna za metodologiju evropske vizije, otvorenu za umetnike širom Evrope.
Tokom ove rezidencije koja bi trebalo da se dešava u jednoj novosadskoj školi, umetnici iz Beča , zajedno sa lokalnim kolektivom Dance Station istraživaće nove modele participativnog pristupa u izvođačkim umetnostima, a u tome će im pomoći mentori. Umetničko istraživanje sa lokalnom zajednicom je ključni korak projekta i na kraju će biti upotpunjeno javnim nastupima u okviru festivala Cirkus Danas, koji će ove godine imati svoje prvo izdanje.

BETA CIRCUS Participatory experience is a collaborative project that aims to create an European transnational opportunity to explore the participatory circus as a future trend to engage the public participation in the circus creative process, letting the audience to become coauthors, editors, and observers of the artistic work.
Applying the participatory arts methodology to the contemporary circus universe, will promote the engaging of the local community of the intervention place with a full and integrated creation process applied to unconventional spaces for artistic presentation, including the public space, connecting contemporary arts to the immaterial local cultural heritage by the voice of the inhabitants as co-creators with professional artists.
A partnership connecting Italy, Latvia, Portugal and Serbia is the starting-point to an European vision methodology, opened to artists from all over Europe that wish to explore the participatory work applied to circus arts. Circus artists selected by an European open call will join local collectives with experience in participatory arts, joining forces for a collaborative experience supported by expert mentors. Artistic labs, collaborative meetings, artistic research and creative residencies in the interventional places with the local community are the key steps of the project. Each artistic experience is completed with a public performance.
Connecting contemporary circus with participatory arts methodologies is a possible future trend that the project wish to test and explore, complementing the capacity-building and co-creative artistic activities with a research and monitoring level that will allow the edition of a toolkit and a documentary in the end of the project to disseminate the methodology and the experience for all the European and international artistic community.
